夏の海の中、輝く光と、たくさんの色鮮やかな魚たち。
凪いだ水面はジュエリーの光のようにゴールドにきらめき、
波の泡は太陽の光を受けて、白い粒子となって舞い上がる。
柔らかく優しい色をした珊瑚や海藻は、まるでピンクオパールのよう。
波の泡が閉じ込める透明なきらめきは、
まるでクラック水晶が抱く小さな光の結晶のよう。
私は海が大好きで、今年は5月の下旬から今に至るまで週に3回は海に潜っています。
海が肌をなでるように包み込む水の気持ちよさ、深く潜る時の無音、
そして一生懸命に生きるカニや魚たちの息づかい。
そのすべてが、私の心を澄ませてくれるのです。
絵を描いていると、
「あっちではこの魚たちが遊んでいて、こっちでは家族の大移動。」
そんな物語が、自然とキャンバスに宿ります。
魚の棲家となる珊瑚や海藻たちは、
たくさんの生き物を優しく見守りながら、ゆりかごのように海の中でたたずむ。
魚が呼吸し、海藻が呼吸し、珊瑚が呼吸し、
太陽と海がひとつの生命のように呼吸する世界。
その中に身をゆだね、ゆらゆらと漂うと、
まるでマーメイドになったような、いるかや鯨の視点で世界を見ているような気持ちになります。
今回のキャンバスにぴったりのインスピレーションとなるジュエリーを選びました。

In the summer sea, light shimmers and countless colorful fish swim by.
The calm surface glows like the gold of jewelry, while bubbles formed by waves
sparkle white under the touch of sunlight.
The soft and gentle tones of coral and seaweed remind me of pink opal,
while the bubbles’ transparent brilliance feels like tiny crystals
held within crack quartz.
I have loved the ocean for as long as I can remember, and this year
I have been diving three times a week since late May.
The gentle embrace of the water, the silence that greets me as I dive deep,
and the breath of life from crabs and fish—
all of it clears my mind and soul.
When I paint, my brush moves effortlessly,
as if telling a story:
“Over there, the fish are playing. Over here, a family makes its great migration.”
Coral and seaweed, homes for fish,
quietly cradle life in the ocean like gentle guardians.
Fish breathe, seaweed breathes, coral breathes,
and the sun and sea seem to breathe as one great living being.
As I float and watch this world sway,
I feel as if I’ve become a mermaid,
or as if I am seeing through the eyes of dolphins and whales.
This time, I have chosen jewelry that resonates with this canvas,
pieces that carry the same inspiration.
